Spending some quality time with the children this last week and we came by this.  I wonder if it might be possibly to make some sort of a labyrinth with nails and a board and some rope….

I returned home from my few days in Wakefield this week (I am a commuting canon until July) and found this small gift from my family on my desk.  I struggle sometimes to see what others see in me and I really am no Wonder Woman, but I do strive always to be the best I can be in every aspect of my life and that sometimes includes being able to fail wonderfully well too.

This morning’s Old Testament Reading made me feel glad because it reminded me of this bit of Mendelssohn.

Today was quite exciting as my computer arrived and I started using the various files and tools to begin doing the desk element of my role.  This bit isn’t pretty but it’s pretty essential!

I am always aware of the great privilege of presiding at the Eucharist. Doing so for the first time, despite fumbling a little along my way due to a slightly different setting and liturgy, was incredibly grounding and settling for me.  Thanks be to God.

Tuesday was the first time I sang with one of the Cathedral Choirs and over the next few days, I have spent time hanging around the three key groups of singers – boys, girls and men.  We have a really good choir at the present time, who work very hard and I have enjoyed immersing myself in the music, worshiping through this new privilege.  I am very thankful for this and excited about what the future will bring!

A simple one for today.  Thankful that I am travelling north.  North is not only where I feel most at home but where God calls me to serve.
